Uniting Artisans, Preserving Traditions: Ateliers d’Art du Perche

Ateliers SP artisans participated in building a community committed to excellence, heritage, and craftsmanship

Artisans from Ateliers SP participated in founding Ateliers d’Art du Perche, an association established to unite skilled artisans in the Perche region and its surroundings. The association was formed by twelve artisans, selected for their expertise and ethical practices.
The founding members include Ateliers SP artisans Marianne Barrier, Élise Blouet-Ménard, Frédéric Hamel, and Audrey Legeay.

Ateliers d’Art du Perche is an association that brings together artisans with a shared interest in craftsmanship and artistic preservation. The organization aims to support and promote various forms of craftsmanship while fostering collaboration among its members.

A Commitment to Excellence, Ethics, and Heritage

The association emphasizes craftsmanship, ethical practices, and the preservation of artistic traditions. Membership is granted based on professional expertise, adherence to ethical standards, and a demonstrated commitment to craftsmanship and client engagement.

Members not only create and restore works of art but also contribute to the continuation of traditional techniques. This effort helps ensure that these skills are passed down to future generations, preserving them as a vital part of France’s cultural heritage.

Artisans at Ateliers d’Art du Perche specialise in a wide range of traditional and contemporary crafts, including graphic arts, woodworking, ceramics, leatherwork, interior decoration, design, lighting, metalwork, bookbinding, tabletterie (the creation of small decorative objects made from wood, bone, or ivory), textiles, and glasswork. This diversity enables the association to showcase a broad spectrum of artistic trades.

By emphasising craftsmanship and ethical standards, the association supports artisans in producing high-quality work, whether they are restoring historical artefacts or creating contemporary pieces.

Promoting and Supporting Rare Craftsmanship

The association promotes collaboration among artisans and strives to sustain specialised craftsmanship. Many traditional crafts face difficulties due to industrialisation and mass production. Ateliers d’Art du Perche aims to support artisans in these fields by facilitating connections with patrons, sponsors, and cultural institutions that appreciate the value of handmade, high-quality creations.

Additionally, the association engages in activities to raise awareness about traditional craftsmanship and its cultural significance. Through educational initiatives and outreach efforts, it seeks to contribute to the ongoing practice of these skills and help ensure their transmission to future generations.
