Marina Fedorova’s Cosmodreams Unveils Immersive “Dinner in Red” at ART021 Shanghai

Marina Fedorova presents “Dinner in Red” at ART021 Shanghai, a provocative banquet exploring excess and modern anxieties

At ART021 Shanghai, contemporary artist Marina Fedorova presents Cosmodreams with “Dinner in Red”, an immersive concept that turns the banquet table into a stage for reflecting on contemporary society. The concept confronts themes of excess, performance, and the fragile relationship between nature and modern culture, inviting audiences to consider how spectacle and consumption shape collective experience today.

“Dinner in Red” invites viewers into a paradoxical, cinematic universe where grand banquet scenes transform into visual dialogues that explore the challenges of human nature, social roles, and the anxieties of living in a consumer-driven era. The exhibition’s centerpiece is an opulent dining table, dramatically draped and illuminated, laden not only with decadent foods but with uncanny objects — anatomical curiosities, surreal delicacies, and symbolic creatures. In this setting, celebration mixes with decay, and indulgence hides deeper feelings of unease.

“I want my art not only to reflect contemporaneity, but also to prompt genuine reflection—the search for meaning, authenticity, and honesty with oneself,” Fedorova explains.

By presenting Cosmodreams at ART021, Marina Fedorova encourages viewers to move from passive observation to active engagement, turning the exhibition into a space of participation and reflection.
