From Tradition to Innovation: Ateliers SP at JEMA 2025

Ateliers SP is excited to return to JEMA 2025, where Frédéric Hamel and Marianne Barrier, along with 25 artisans, will showcase their craftsmanship

Ateliers SP is excited to return to the JEMA (Journées Européennes des Métiers d’Art, or ‘European Crafts Days’) in Mortagne-au-Perche, taking place from 4th to 6th April 2025,and following its participation in last year’s edition (Read more). Notably, Frédéric Hamel, an artisan from Ateliers SP, has been chosen as one of ten artisans from Normandy to participate in the official opening of the event. Over the three days, both Marianne Barrier and Frédéric Hamel will showcase their craftsmanship, providing attendees with a deeper understanding of their work. 

This edition of JEMA, organised by Les Ateliers d’Art du Perche and Les Grands Ateliers de France, will showcase the work of 25 artisans at eight historic sites throughout the town. Among the participants are artisans recognised as Meilleurs Ouvriers de France and recipients of the Bettencourt Prize for the Intelligence of the Hand.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore various crafts, including clockmaking, bookbinding, collodion photography, cabinet making, mosaic art, and exhibits from the Haute École de Joaillerie. The event will also feature workshops and demonstrations that highlight different techniques and the passing down of skills.
