Bel Ouvrage: Contemporary Views on Craftsmanship
Ateliers SP is proud to announce its support for the first edition of Bel Ouvrage, an exhibition designed to celebrate French know-how. This remarkable event will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024, at the Orangerie du Sénat in Paris.
Bel Ouvrage represents a significant milestone in the world of Decorative Arts and Collectible Design. It highlights the artistic prowess of 40 creators through a hundred unique pieces. This initiative, organized in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Les Grands Ateliers de France, aims to showcase the diversity and richness of French craftsmanship across various fields, including wood, glass, ceramics, paper, textile, feathers, leather, and metal.
For 15 days, the Orangerie du Sénat will be transformed into a space dedicated to French excellence, featuring rare works created by workshops and designer artists. The event will include moments of exchange between artists, craftsmen, and experts, contributing to the preservation and transmission of unique know-how in craftsmanship and creation. Special meetings will be organized to engage younger generations, fostering an appreciation for these exceptional skills and encouraging their renewal.
Ateliers SP is delighted to count Frédéric Hamel among the ‘artisans of art’ who participate in the exhibition. His impressive craftsmanship will be demonstrated through four pieces, each meticulously crafted by turning, guilloche, mother-of-pearl engraving and marquetry techniques.
Curated by strategist Carole de Bona with a scenography by Vincent Dupont-Rougier, Bel Ouvrage promises to be a unique showcase of French excellence, bringing together enthusiasts, art lovers, collectors, and professionals. The event aspires to become a living laboratory where creativity merges with tradition, highlighting artisans with rare know-how and revealing sometimes unknown exceptional talents.
