Ateliers SP at Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel

Ateliers SP participated in the 30th Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel, October 24–27, 2024, at the Carrousel du Louvre

The Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel (International Heritage Fair), was held from October 24 to October 27, 2024, at the Carrousel du Louvre, marking its 30th year as a platform for showcasing efforts in heritage preservation, restoration, and promotion. Organized by Ateliers d’Art de France, the event brought together artisans, institutions, and organizations to highlight the role of cultural heritage in supporting local economies, tourism, and national identity. The event emphasized the significance of transmitting craftsmanship and cultural knowledge to future generations, attracting interest from young professionals exploring careers in heritage-related fields.

Stéphane Bern, patron of the 30th edition and head of Mission Patrimoine, noted the importance of heritage as a societal and economic resource. He described it as a field that fosters local industry, supports rural economies, attracts tourism, and connects communities to their history and identity.

Ateliers SP participated in the salon for the second time, continuing its efforts to showcase craftsmanship and heritage preservation. Like last year, Ateliers SP shared a stand with Atelier Pianos Balleron, emphasizing the collaboration that brings together musical and artisan traditions.

Ateliers SP presented works by its artisans Marianne Barrier, Audrey Legeay, and Frédéric Hamel, featuring demonstrations and creations that showcased traditional and contemporary craftsmanship.

Live demonstrations of the guilloché lathe technique by Audrey and Frédéric provided visitors with insights into rare craftsmanship methods. Marianne displayed straw marquetry, demonstrating the application of traditional techniques to modern designs.

The participation of Ateliers SP aligns with the event’s mission to promote the continuation of heritage crafts and encourage collaboration between artisans and cultural institutions. The Salon serves as a meeting point for connecting professionals and institutions with potential clients and supporters.

The Salon International du Patrimoine Culturel highlights the economic, cultural, and societal value of heritage, demonstrating its role as a sustainable resource that links the past to the future. Ateliers SP’s involvement underscores the importance of preserving and promoting craftsmanship in contemporary contexts.
